JULY 2025 NEWSLETTER
"43 years of Conservation"
NACC’s next meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 9, at 7 pm in the club house.
We wish everyone an enjoyable Fourth of July! Be Safe!
Gun Raffle - Drawing winner was member Tony Kuebel. The trustees would like to thank everyone who supported this raffle in which we sold all 250 tickets. A note of interest, this raffle along with our December raffle and the fishing derby are the only events the club does to raise money to sustain the club.
SCATTER BOARD Squares are available to purchase at the meeting, Two dollars per square. Winner takes $35.00 of it.
Our new NACC logo (draft #4) was widely accepted at our June meeting with the whitetail deer head replacement. It was posted on our Face book page for viewing and comments. So, then the next question was, what color should the backdrop of the flag be, a few colors were suggested with many thinking a dark blue similar to the state flag would nice. But before deciding, members requested that Dale contact Ali, (graphic designer) to see if she could present a few examples and she did. We had posted them on our Face book page for comment with 90% saying they like the dark blue. That is what it will be. Secretary Dale is proceeding with getting the flag made. Dale noted that Ali Weber, graphic designer, friend of member Preston Hampton, has been incredible to work with on this project. She does excellent work and is easy to communicate with, via email. And she has formatted our new logo in several different ways for us to use in the future. Large size for the 3' x5' flag and its adjustable, 12" to use as an embroider for a jacket, 3" for embroider on hats etc. We will down load these on to a flash drive and place in the safe deposit box for safe keeping and future use.
Our club made a donation of $50.00 to the Sunman Area Life Squad fund raising campaign last month. A very worthy cause!
Executive Board Semi-annual audit/business review meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 30th, starting at 6:30 pm at the club house. All board members are encouraged to attend.
Back on the week of June 15th, our 15 sponsored campers attended the Karl E. Kelly Conservation Camp that is located west of Lafayette, In at the Ross Township Campground Park. One camper mentioned that they didn't get to do canoe trip because that day had tornado warnings out. So they were sheltering in place. But they still had fun all the other days at camp.
Here is a little reminder that our club is in need of a new treasurer beginning the 2026 year. Richard Kuebel has been our treasurer for over the past "15" years and has notified us that he will no longer be available to do this job. So this is a call to each and every member of NACC, to volunteer, to encourage a member, to find a new member to fulfill the treasurer job this coming fall election. All suggestions are welcome and discussions will be heard at the executive board's semi-annual board meeting in July.
We should note that our three trustees, Gutz Callahan, Dave Henlein & Slugger Kuebel do an excellent job of maintaining our club facilities. The do what ever it takes to keep things working and looking nice. To name a few things, Gutz cooks up a fine meal after ever meeting and also manages the pond, Slugger leads up the raffles and mows all the grass, and Dave maintains the bee hives and habitat areas and leads on any construction projects. As members we are able to enjoy what the club has to offer because of their dedication. The trustees can always use the help of members to complete different task, so if you are an able person. Join in !
Yours in Conservation,
