Wildlife Sighting at the Pond!

Slugger spotted a hole in the east side of the pond while mowing — members took a tour! The month prior, many had seen a family of black minks traveling through the yard. Could it be their burrow? Stay tuned!

Golf Outing — Saturday, September 19

Casey (chairman), along with Slugger and George, reported that Brookhill Golf Course is raising their fee by $5.00. Members approved passing the increase along to golfers.

  • Cost: $320.00 per team of 4 ($80.00 per golfer)
  • Date: Saturday, September 19 — Tee time at 8:00 AM
  • Prime Rib Dinner headed up by George and his helpers — same format as last year
  • All proceeds go toward sending kids to the Karl Kelly Conservation Camp — this summer we sent 20 kids!

Casey is collecting Tee Hole sponsors now — contact him at 812-577-5078.
There may be an opening for a new team or two — contact Slugger at 812-221-0397.

Newsletter & Communications Update

The club discussed the rising cost of stamps and monthly mailings. While switching to email was considered, not all members have email accounts. No changes at this time — the monthly newsletter will continue as-is.

A reminder that all newsletters are posted and archived on our club website for anyone to view. We also encourage everyone to follow us on Facebook — new posts go up each week about events and conservation news we’ve helped sponsor.

Membership Growing!

Membership continues to grow this year and more members are attending monthly meetings — that’s encouraging!

Back to School Safety Reminder

The kids are back in school — please be aware of school buses stopping to pick up children. Slow down and stop. Be safe!
