Executive Board Meeting Recap — January 21

The board reviewed 2025 club activities and completed the annual in-house financial audit, required to maintain federal not-for-profit status. Key discussion points:

  • Treasurer: Richard Kuebel has graciously accepted another year of service for 2027 — thank you, Richard!
  • Mowing: Slugger agreed to mow club property again this year
  • Snow removal: Chuck will handle as needed
  • Tanner’s Creek property: Fallen trees need removal from the old roadway; bridge structure to be inspected
  • Property improvements: Painting needed in various areas; porch planned for the clubhouse entrance for weather protection

2025 Financial Audit Complete

NACC audited the treasury book from January 1 – December 31, 2025. Richard had done an excellent job of documentation, making the audit go smoothly with few changes to the outcome. This audit is required for filing State and Federal not-for-profit forms throughout the year.

  • Dale filed the annual Federal 990 not-for-profit form — $50.00 fee paid
  • Dale filed the State ST-103 sales tax form — no fee required

June 10th Gun Raffle

Trustees discussed the upcoming gun raffle, including whether to add 2nd and 3rd place prizes. After member discussion, it was agreed to keep the format as it has been. Slugger will select the gun — likely sourced from the Rusty Buck in Batesville where NACC gets a good deal. Tickets are expected to be printed and available for distribution at the next meeting. Your help and support is needed as always!

Solar Farm Discussion — Manchester Area, Dearborn County

Members discussed the pros and cons of a possible solar farm being constructed in the Manchester area of Dearborn County. With no solid facts established yet, members selected Dave Henlein to attend upcoming public meetings on behalf of NACC to represent the club’s conservation concerns and interests.

IWF Alert — House Bill 1033

The Indiana Wildlife Federation has flagged State House Bill #1033 as a major concern. This bill seeks to consolidate and eliminate various state commissions, including the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) — NACC and IWF’s primary avenue for having a voice on hunting, fishing, and conservation matters.

Members agreed the NRC must be removed from HB 1033. The bill has moved to the Senate with NRC elimination still included. Hopefully the Senate removes it!
