NACC’s next meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 12, at 7 pm in the club house.
PROPERTY CLEAN UP prior to our meeting at 5pm. With all the wind we’re having there are lots of small limbs blown down that need cleaned up for mowing, plus there is some small brush along the edges that needs trimmed back yet. Our clean up day last month was very productive and a big thanks to those who came. We still have work to do.
Our 35th Annual Fishing Derby is May 6. at Lake in the Pines. The derby starts at 7am and ends at 3pm with awards following. Registration will begin at 6 am derby day and continue until 12:30.We have a lot of great prizes again this year for the Adult 12 and older category where the fee is $18.00 and the Children under 12 category that are free to register. Each category will be fishing for Catfish, Bass and Blue Gill and judged by the biggest fish by weight. We also have a Special Catch prize for the 1st Tagged Catfish turned in. And we will have lots of door prizes to give away for those registered fishermen. The club will have a lunch stand at the pavilion for your convenience. Rain or shine we look forward to seeing you at the derby, bring your kids, grand kids and friends for an enjoyable day. No license required. We have included a derby flier for you to put up to help get the word out.
ALSO: NEW FEATURE AT THE DERBY – We will be hosting Clint Howalik, a former DNR employee, giving a fishing seminar for children (and adults) at the Pavilion Fish Check In Station, beginning at 10:00 am till noon, including some hands on. This was all made possible through the Lawrenceburg Public Library District’s, Program Coordinator, Denise Freitag Burdette,. Denise will also be on hand to promote the Library’s summer program theme – Kindness. And , Denise will be promoting our derby throughout the Dearborn County Library Branches this month too. Please come out and be supportive.

Last month our club made a $50.00 donation to the Sunman Fire Department.
At this time of writing, the club is planning their July Rifle Raffle. We hope to have tickets available for distribution this month.
Spring Turkey Season begins April 26 and runs through May14. The Youth Turkey season is April 22-23.
APRIL 22 is EARTH DAY – celebrate this day by getting outdoors to take a walk or just take notice of all things coming alive in spring.
Indiana Wildlife Federation, Executive Director, Dan Boritt was present at the DNR Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area dedication of the Visitors Center Trail of which IWF partnered with. down in southwestern Indiana.

The club house was closed on Saturday, March 25th (late notice) for Jeff Kuebel’s birthday party.
