NACC Newsletter – March 2022

NACC’s next meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 9 , at 7 pm in the club house. 

SATURDAY, MARCH 19  CLEAN UP DAY AT 9am   bring yard tools.

NACC Executive Board Annual Audit for year ending December 31, 2021 report highlights.  A full copy of the report is posted in the club house.   The Executive Board reviewed and updated our Calendar of Events schedule for the year 2022.  Copies are available by request. The board verified access cash  reserves that are set aside for sending kids to camp, $9007.83; and approved mowing expenses for the year.  Plus reviewed the maintenance items that were listed  to be done. (list is getting smaller).    The financial audit states in 2021 we had total revenue of  $30707.59 and a total expense of 29239.49, which left us with excess net income of  $1468.10 for the year.  The next semi-annual executive board meeting will be held on July 19, 2022 at 6:30pm.

 THE BEN DALL AWARD COMMITTEE WILL BEGIN MEETING.  The committee is made up of:  President, Chuck S.,  Past President, Rob S. and 1-3 club members. If you are interested in being on this committee, drop us a line. It can be a learning experience of our club history.  The award is scheduled to be announced this fall.

NACC Trustees are planning a gun raffle And are hoping to have tickets available for distribution in April. More details coming.

Eagle Scout Project:  James Bulach and his family have announced  that James will have his Eagle Scout Court of Honor celebration on April 16, 2022 at the New Alsace American Legion Post beginning at 10 am with a brunch served.  Tours of  James’ project at the NACC club property will be available at the conclusion of his celebration.  Congratulation to James and his proud parents , Jenny and Joe Bulach.  We are very proud to be apart of his Eagle Scout journey.

New Alsace Conservation Club’s 34th Annual Fishing Derby to be held Saturday, May 7th at Lake in the Pines, New Alsace, Indiana.    Sponsor commitments are being accepted up until March 25th to get your name or business on the poster boards and fliers before going to the printer. New Sponsors are being accepted.  Contact Dale Back if you would like to be a derby sponsor at  812-212-2601 or email: [email protected].   Committee members need to have their sponsors turned into Dale before the deadline of March 25 for the poster board.  We hope to have the posters ready for distribution the first week in April.

NACC Karl E. Kelly Camp –  We have a total of 10 children registered for camp this year. 

We would like to thank everyone who came out to our first super bowl party at the club house.   We had some great food and a very exciting game to watch.  Although the outcome wasn’t what many of us wanted, the Bengals may be back again.  We look forward to doing this again next year too!

2022 MEMBERSHIP DUES are now being collected.   New members are welcome.   If you already paid your dues, thank you for your being apart of our organization.  NACC dues annually are $12.00  and you can pick up  an affiliate Indiana Wildlife Federation for the discounted  fee of $20.00 (optional)   mail to:  New Alsace Conservation Club, PO Box 302, Sunman, IN  47041  NOTE:  SOME MEMBERS HAVE PAID MULTIPLY YEARS IN ADVANCE. Indiana Wildlife Federation – IWF  is now accepting orders for Native Plants .  deadline is April 1, 2022 for spring planting. Go to their website,  indianawildlife.org  There are several different native kits available such as:  Pollinator, Rain Garden, Grasses, Shade native plant kits, each kit contains 50 plugs(10 species with 5 each).  They also have some bare-root  tree and shrub stock for sale that comes in bundles of 25 whips 12-16 inches tall.
