NACC Newsletter – December 2022

NACC’s next meeting to be held on Wednesday, December 14, at 7 pm in the club house. 

 HAND GUN RAFFLE December 14 meeting night –   Tickets are $10.00 each for a chance to win this Springfield HellCat, 9mm with Red Dot. Tickets NEED TO BE TURNED IN TO Richard Kuebel, dropped off at Klump’s Tavern, or brought to the meeting where the drawing will take place.  (Last months newsletter had the drawing /meeting date wrong)

  Last month  our club opened  nominations for the 2023 Election of officers and trustees. Nominations are still  being accepted at this meeting in December  prior to the election taking place.  If you or if you know of anyone interested in serving the organization in this capacity, please come forward.  We are always looking to better the organization for our members. So far 2023 nominations for  officers are: Pres. – Chuck Schmeltzer, VP  – Casey Gilmore, Treasurer – Richard Kuebel, Secretary – Dale Back,  Trustee (3 yr term) – Dave Henlein.  The 2023 election vote will take place when nominations are closed.

 NACC is looking for 15 or more children in the 5th or 6th  grade who would be interested in attending the Indiana Conservation Officer  Organization – ICOO  Karl Kelly Youth Conservation Camp, which will be held this coming summer in June (usually the third week) for 7 days.  NACC will select children who sign up by February 1, 2023.  The cost of the camp is paid for by NACC.  If your child, nephew, niece or grandchildren like outdoor adventure, this camp is a must for them.  It is a full week of fun that they will enjoy and remember for a long time.    You can check out their website,   www.icoo.com  where you can view past information at this time, and after the first of year, the new information will be available as in the past.   Remember  all registration must go through the NACC for us to pay.  Providing  the child’s name, a contact person and phone number and e-mail address are essential to enter and complete our camp forms.  CONTACT  NACC secretary, Dale Back at  backdale@gmail.com or text 812-212-2601 to register.  Don’t wait to long, we already have 3 campers on the list!

2023 MEMBERSHIP DUES are now being collected.   New members are welcome.   If you already paid your dues, thank you for your being apart of our organization.  NACC dues annually are $12.00  and you can pick up  an affiliate membership of  Indiana Wildlife Federation for the discounted  fee of $20.00 (optional)   mail to:  New Alsace Conservation Club, PO Box 302, Sunman, IN  47041  NOTE:  SOME MEMBERS HAVE PAID MULTIPLY YEARS IN ADVANCE. IF YOUR ONE OF THEM, DISREGARD THIS NOTICE:  IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, CHECK THE FRONT OF THE ENVELOPE THIS LETTER CAME IN.   ABOVE YOU NAME IS A DATE – THIS IS HOW  LONG YOUR DUES ARE PAID THROUGH. Golf Outing Final Report 2022 –   Chairman Casey Gilmore reported the Golf Outing net income  was  $5983.76  Thanks to everyone!

Indiana Wildlife Federation – IWF  2023 Annual Conference will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Garrison at Ft. Harrison State Park. Registration  is now being accepted.  www.indianawildlife.org

DNR – Did you know Indiana ranks 11th nationally in Christmas tree production, with more than 200 tree farms producing almost 200,000 harvestable trees per year.  Christmas trees take seven or more years to grow from seedling before they are ready to be sold.  Scotch Pine trees are the most popular farmed species of Christmas tree in Indiana.
