NACC Newsletter – November 2021

NACC’s next meeting to be held on Wednesday, November 10 , at 7 pm in the club house.

It is November, the leaves are falling, a little chill in the air and  the busy summer is behind us, but here at the conservation club we are looking for members to get more involved and make us a better club in the future.  This month  our club opens  nominations for the 2022 Election of officers and trustees. Nominations are being accepted at this meeting in November and  the next December meeting  prior to the election taking place.  If you or if you know of anyone interested in serving the organization in this capacity, please come forward.  We are always looking to better the organization for our members.

NACC GUN SAFE RAFFLE tickets are available.  The Cannon Safe hold 49 guns and was   purchase last month at Dunham’s in Harrison.  We are only selling 200 tickets at the cost of $10.00 each .  The drawing will be held at our December 8th meeting at the club house.  Tickets sold and money should be turned into Richard Kuebel, Treasurer.

Our club made a donation of $50.00 to the Ruth Lyon’s Coon Hunt that is being held on Saturday, December 4 at the Sunman Fish and Game Club. It’s a great time and a great way to raise funds for the Ruth Lyon’s Children’s fund that brings cheer and joy to kids in hospitals.

NACC is looking for 10 or more children in the 5th or 6th  grade who would be interested in attending the Indiana Conservation Officer  Organization – ICOO  Karl Kelly Youth Conservation Camp, which will be held this coming summer in June (usually the third week) for 7 days.  NACC will select children who sign up by February 1, 2022.  The cost of the camp is paid for by NACC.  If your child, nephew, niece or grandchildren like outdoor adventure, this camp is a must for them.  It is a full week of fun that they will enjoy and remember for a long time.  Contact Rob Seig  for more info.   robseig@seigsurveying.com    812-209-9099 .   You can check out their website,   www.icoo.com  where you can view past information at this time and after the first of year, the new information will be available,  as in the past.   Remember  all registration must go through the NACC for us to pay.  Providing  the child’s name, a contact person and phone number and e-mail address are essential to enter and complete our camp forms.  You can also, e-mail NACC secretary, Dale Back at  backdale@gmail.com  for updates.

Golf Outing report update.  As of the October meeting Treasurer, Richard Kuebel reported the golf outing had a net profit of $3965.73.   And it was noted that we may have a few more hole sponsors paying up to add to the net amount.  All proceeds are used to send kids to the ICOO  Karl E. Kelly Conservation Camp.

Club house closed for private party on November 13.

Don’t forget the Gobble Wobble 5K Run on Thanksgiving  in Dover, IN, that is put on by All Saints Parish to raise funds for the Sunman Food Pantry, North Dearborn Food Pantry & East Central H.S. Food Pantry.  NACC is  one of many sponsors of the event.
