Indiana Wildlife Federation – IWF –  Asian Carp sign on letter  – NACC voted to sign letter of support for the Army Corp of Engineers plan to enhance Asia Carp barriers on the Des Plaines River, Brandon Road Lock and Dam Area that drains into Lake Michigan. This plan includes a gantlet of technologies (acoustic fish dete4rrent, engineered channel, electric barrier and a flushing lock) to prevent the Asian carp from moving past the lock, while maintaining navigation for shipping. And including an air bubble curtain to slow their approach. And to continue current actions in deploying aggressive harvest activities along the river and other areas to fish down the population.  The Asian carp pose a significant threat to the use of the Great Lakes as we know it today.

DNR reported – Back on November 18, 2018 a black bear was hit by a car in the New Albany area.  Probably came across the Ohio from Kentucky.  In the future we may see more bears as their habitats get smaller and they expand their mating areas.  Don’t feed bears.
