NACC Newsletter – February 2019

NACC’s next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 13th , at 7 pm in the club house.

Our Executive Board met on January 15 to review club events and audit our treasury books for the year ending 12-31-18.  The meeting opened with a review of the boards last  2018 semi-annual and  2017 annual meeting minutes.  Then our 2019 Calender of Events  was updated with much discussion as to what was needed for fund raising to be successful going forward. Maintenance  and repair items of the club house and properties are a big concern and need to be addressed in some fashion by the membership.  A few items were completed off the list, but other items were added this year.  Of the items identified, seven have funds approved of which three have material purchased and ready for installation.  The other items mainly need volunteer man power.  Three projects were discussed:   Install new AC / heating unit, which would eliminate the window units and secure the building better, and adding on a lower deck to the existing one, this has been in planning since the first deck was built. The board completed the treasury audit with a small increase in available funds.  The audit is required to file our federal 990 form annually, which maintains our federal 501 C 4  not for profit status and allows us to keep our property tax exemption.  Plus the audit can be used in conjunction with grant applications.  We will review the complete audit at this meeting.

NACC 31st Annual Fishing Derby committee will be kicking off their solicitation for sponsors this month, as reported by derby chair, Dale Back.  Past derby sponsors will be contacted, but we encourage our members to help get new sponsors for this years derby.  Solicitation packets will be available for those who are interested in helping out.  Sponsor Deadline for poster is March 25th.  This years derby will be held on May 4th at Lake in the Pines.  Contact Dale if you have any questions.  (812)623-2431 or backdale@gmail.com.

The club property has many fallen trees that were blown over in the past wind and ice storms and are needed to be cleaned up.  Anybody interested in helping us out would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all who came out for the super bowl wild game dinner party.  A lot of joy was being spread around!  A lot of fans were sad to see the LA Rams lose to the New England Patriots, who seem to have a dynasty playing in the super bowl.
