NACC Newsletter – December 2019

The NACC Officers would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.   

     

NACC’s next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 11th , at 7 pm in the club house.

NACC ANNUAL GUN SAFE RAFFLE -.  All tickets need to be sold and turned in by  Sunday,December 8th .  Richard K. will be collecting them at Klump’s Tavern that evening.   The drawing is slated to be held at our December 11th club meeting. 

The NACC would like to thank all those (64) who made a donation in memory of  Mark Lewis  to the New Alsace Conservation Club.  As requested by Mark and his family, all donations will be used to send kids to the Karl E. Kelly Conservation Camp.

Golf Outing proceeds were finalized by Rob Seig.  The club will be able to send eleven (11)  5th & 6th grade school kids for the 2020 Karl E. Kelly Conservation Camp, which will be held the 3rd week of June 2020.  In the past the camp fee was $350.00 per kid.

The Dearborn Co. Planning and Zoning Board informed us that our neighboring properties will be having North Dearborn Water Co. installing two water meters on adjacent lands.

NACC 2020 Officer Nominations –  at the November meeting nominations were opened to elect officers for the up coming 2020 year.  Nominations will be re-opened at this December meeting  for those who are interested.  Elections will then follow after all nominations are closed.  So far, nominations  submitted are:  President – Chuck Schmeltzer,  Vice-President – Dave Henlein, Treasurer – Richard Kuebel, Secretary – Dale Back,  (1)Trustee  3 yr term – Aaron True. 

Our other two 2020  trustees  are:  Slugger Kuebel, who is in his 3rd year of term and   Gutz Callahan, who is in his 2nd year of term.  And our Past President is currently Rob Seig.

 NACC is looking for 11 or more children in the 5th or 6th  grade who would be interested in attending the Indiana Conservation Officer  Organization – ICOO  Karl Kelly Youth Conservation Camp, which will be held this coming summer in June (usually the third week) for 7 days.  NACC will select children who sign up by February 1, 2020.  The cost of the camp is paid for by NACC.  If your child, nephew, niece or grandchildren like outdoor adventure, this camp is a must for them.  It is a full week of fun that they will enjoy and remember for a long time.  Contact Rob Seig  for more info.   robseig@seigsurveying.com    812-209-9099 .   You can check out their website,   www.icoo.com  where you can view past information at this time and after the first of year, the new information will be available,  as in the past.   Remember  all registration must go through the NACC for us to pay.  Providing  the child’s name, a contact person and phone number and e-mail address are essential to enter and complete our camp forms.  You can also, e-mail NACC secretary, Dale Back at  backdale@gmail.com   for updates.

2020 MEMBERSHIP DUES are now being collected.  NACC dues annually are $12.00  and you can pick up  an affiliate Indiana Wildlife Federation for the discounted  fee of $20.00 (optional)  Enclosed is a membership form, fill out and mail to:  New Alsace Conservation Club, PO Box 302, Sunman, IN  47041  “There is strength in numbers”!  NOTE:  SOME MEMBERS HAVE PAID MULTIPLY YEARS IN ADVANCE. IF YOUR ONE OF THEM, DISREGARD THIS NOTICE:  IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, CHECK THE FRONT OF THE ENVELOPE THIS LETTER CAME IN.   ABOVE YOU NAME IS A DATE – THIS IS HOW LONG YOUR DUES ARE PAID THROUGH.

Club House is closed on:  Sunday, December 7 – Card party, Bryan Wilson.  Sunday, December 21 – Christmas party, Jim Schaefer.

Remember when using the club grounds,  leave it looking as it was or better.  Carry all trash out with you.  Thanks.

Correction on November newsletter. Mark Lewis received the Ben Dall Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, not 2013.
